I received the kicker in the mail today and decided I would visit the website and explore a little. Scrolling through the pictures, however grainy they may be, brought back memories of my seven amazing summers at Keewaydin Dunmore. Specifically my senior trip in 99' in Verendreye Park. It rained 14 out of 17 days that we were there and I would not trade that trip for anything. Charlie Bicknell, our trip leader, would take pictures on his now-antiquated digital camera, and Steve King would speak of "Grumping" in the woods while I wielded the large wooden sword I had carved to keep people in line. It was an experience that even now, I remember every small detail of. When I think of that trip, something inside me aches. I have a deep yearning to get back to tripping in the Verendrye wilderness. Unfortunately, school and my ambitions have prevented me from doing so and that part of me, at least for the time being, will need to wait. To all who will be going on their senior trips this coming year, and staff who will be going in the future, cherish the experience because it is one you will never forget. If you are reading this and you were a member of Verendrye Blue in 99', get in touch with me. bridges1731@hotmail.com
